The Militzer & Münch Group

A company that connects worlds.

We are where you need us. Our employees always find the right solution for your order. With our individual logistics services, we are on the move for you by road, air, rail and water. We see ourselves as specialists for demanding markets: Challenging multimodal projects are a matter of course for us. Militzer & Münch is actively involved in strategic alliances and cooperation agreements, and is constantly developing to offer its customers innovative logistics solutions.

Over the past century, the small forwarding company founded by Richard Militzer and Werner Münch in Bavaria in 1880 has grown into a logistics group that connects worlds: with committed employees, many years of experience, regional expertise, and the courage to keep breaking new ground.

History

Pioneering spirit, vision and courage

The founders of Militzer & Münch showed pioneering spirit when they laid the basis of the company with rail transports more than 140 years ago. The same applies to the experts of Militzer & Münch who developed the air freight business in the middle of the last century, and in the following decades, established groupage transports by rail and truck to the Middle East.

As early as in the 1930s, Militzer & Münch became the freight agent of major ocean carriers and airlines. In 1949, Militzer & Münch was appointed official IATA agent. This was followed by the opening of new branches, which were crucial for the expansion of the air and sea freight business, such as the branch office in Hamburg and the first air freight center at Frankfurt Airport, which Militzer & Münch opened in 1962.

Militzer & Münch was among the first logistics companies to venture into the emerging markets of Eastern Europe, Central Asia, and China for its customers, and to successfully establish its services there. Today, with undiminished enthusiasm, Militzer & Münch continues expanding its service portfolio, and ventures into new domains of logistics.

Strategy

We are committed to our promises

A supply chain is only as strong as the people who organize it. That’s a fact we at Militzer & Münch are well aware of. And that’s why rely on our unique network of regional experts and local specialists worldwide.
Family-owned business with long tradition

Militzer & Münch is a family-owned business, founded in Germany over 140 years ago. Through all this time, the requirements of our customers have been the engine that drives us to create ideal transport solutions by road or rail, by air and sea.

Specialist for challenging markets

Thus, we became pioneers: in the 1960s, we were the first to handle overland transports to destinations in the East. And we were among the first to systematically develop the freight forwarding business between Europe, Central Asia and China.

This know-how makes us THE logistics experts for today’s challenging markets. We pledge to get your goods safely to any destination worldwide, be it by air, by sea or overland. No matter where to: we know the way. Worldwide, we operate from over 100 locations in over 30 countries from North Africa to China.

Local expertise combined with international standards

Our secret? We combine local expertise with international standards. Our more than 2000 logistics experts work and live in the places we connect; they are deeply rooted in the local markets and cultures.

Our experts customize individual solutions even for complex projects and exotic destinations. To complement our own company-network, we cooperate with carefully selected partners worldwide to guarantee trustworthy, reliable, and safe shipping.

By people, for people

But no matter how many experts are working for you in the background, to ensure that you always stay on top of things, we provide you with ONE contact person – he or she is your partner along the entire supply chain.

This is how we establish a network that connects worlds for you – born of tradition, by people, for people.

Our corporate values -
The pillars of our success

We attach great importance to sustainable and far-sighted decisions and the careful use of natural resources. Binding safety standards, regular certifications and national audits additionally provide the framework for the quality of our transport logistics services.

Quality that compels

Our quality management is an important instrument to proactively steer Militzer & Münch’s further development and to optimize our processes for the benefit of our customers. Uniform, group-wide quality guidelines, internal trainings and audits ensure a high level of service and form the basis for our certification according to the ISO 9001:2015 standard.

Responsibility that matters

Sustainable profitability is of great importance to Militzer & Münch. Thus, we always take social and ecological aspects into account in our daily decisions. Our transport routes are efficient and resource-friendly.

Safety and security that convince

Through various measures, Militzer & Münch is constantly striving to adapt international supply chains to the increasing demand for security.

Doing what’s right
